CORONAVIRUS AND HEALTH

Due to the recent announcement by Boris Johnson, many people are now under isolation at home with limited access to the outside world.

Under the new guidelines they are as follows:(copied from online)

You are allowed to leave your house for the following reasons:

-Shopping for basic necessities (use food delivery services where you can).

- One form of exercise a day (either alone or with members of your household).

- Any medical need

- Travelling to and from work but only when this is absolutely necessary

The following are deemed NOT acceptable/now to be closed:

- You should not be meeting friends, if they ask you, you should say no.

- Family members who do not live in your home

The following are now to be closed:

- Close all shops selling non essential items including clothing and electronics.

- Libraries

- Playgrounds

- Outdoor gyms

- Places of worship

- Stop all gatherings of more than two people in public

- All social events- weddings, baptisms, excluding funerals

- Parks remaining open for exercise but gatherings will be dispersed.


If you don't follow the rules, police will have the power to enforce them, including handing out fines and dispersing gatherings.

Boris said the government will be assessing these measures in three weeks time and relaxing them if it is deemed suitable but at present there are 'no easy options.


As this is the case here is a few top tips that you can do at home to keep connected to the outside world and to maintain a healthy mind:


1. Read a book

2. Have a clear out of the house.

3. Meditation 

4. Call a family member, a friend or a work colleague 

5. Home gym workouts 

6. Keep up the routine

7. Write a journal

8. Do an online course

9. Limit social media access 

10. Have time away from news as it could get overwhelming when there is too much information. 


There are plenty of other things you can do to keep your mental and physical health at bay during this tough time.

Make sure you are all eating properly, washing your hands and getting rest in as well.
